The Stanford Ticket Office resale policy is to not resell a ticket in which the patron who purchased the ticket did not consent.
The Stanford Ticket Office will always communicate our actions to the patron and the patron must give consent in person, over the phone or via email to release their ticket. When we resell the ticket, it is always for face value and nothing more.
Subject to the needs and resources of the event, a patron can return their ticket to the Stanford Ticket Office for resale and be given the below options:
· Exchange it for another event
· Place the money on account credit to use towards a future event
· Work with the Office of Development to give the patron Stanford University donation credit for the ticket amount
· Place the ticket amount towards the client's revenue
Example 1: If its 15 minutes after an event has started and there are unclaimed will call tickets, we do not resell these because the purchaser did not consent.
Example 2: If it is 48 hours prior to the event and we receive a phone call from a patron who purchased tickets and cannot make it, we would ask for their consent to exchange their tickets. We would then process the exchange. This would ‘void’ the tickets for the original event and provide new tickets for the event they exchanged in to.
